The Earthly Life of the Blessed Virgin

Mary's life on earth encompasses all the events of Christ's salvation: from the moment she expected Jesus to the time of His Resurrection, followed by His Ascension to Heaven. Mary was a privileged witness at the most significant moments in world history.

 

Yet she was more that a mere witness. She was very much a key actor in the realization of two of the most important mysteries in which she cooperated in such a privileged and unique way: the Incarnation of the Son of God in her womb, and the Redemption of the world.

 

She is at the heart of Israel's expectation of the Messiah, as well as being at the heart of the birthing Church after the achievement of God's promises. And, of course, she lived longer with her Son that any other person on earth...
